Onboarding Flow - User Review App

Mobile app for a corporate client based in California, April - July 2017, Dom & Tom


For the digital agency Dom & Tom, I designed an onboarding flow for a mobile customer reviews app.

Step 1: first rating

New users who just downloaded the app are asked to rate a transaction.

The financial incentive for this first rating is generous enough to give users an incentive to rate.

At this point, the user is not yet asked to connect a bank account in order to earn the dollar. If users want to connect their bank account, they can do so but it is not required.


Step 2: connecting an account

Left Screen

The user rated a transaction and earns a dollar. And again, the user is given the opportunity to connect a bank account by tapping on the Connect button.

If the user does not tap on the Connect button, the screen disappears after 10 seconds and the screen to the right appears.

Right Screen

Here, for the first time, users are directly asked to connect an account.

Users understand the purpose of connecting an account and are given the choice to not connect.

Users select their bank from the drop down menu and are then guided through the process of connecting their account with the app.

 

Step 3: Transaction List

Left Screen

When users have connected a bank account, they see a list of transactions they can rate.

 

Right Screen

Here users see which transactions they rated and how, which transactions have not yet been rated and which transactions they need to confirm as their own in order to rate them.
